Abstract:
In order to explore the mechanism of the farmers' subjective cognition on the “non-grain production” of cultivated land(NPCL), a structural equation model was constructed based on the theory of planned behavior(TPB). The field research data of Dafang County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province were used to study the factors influencing farmer's NPCL. The results showed that: 1)The degree of household income from growing food crops, the influence of friends and relatives, and the distance between farmland to residence have greater impact on the farmer's NPCL; 2)The mediation impacts of the intention to engage in farming(digging fish ponds)and the intention to cooperate with industrial and commercial capital are significant, which are the main paths to form the farmer's NPCL; 3)There are differences in the influencing factors of the NPCL of different types of farmer. Behavioral attitudes, subjective norms and perceptual behavioral control display significant effects on farmers who make independent decisions. Their behavioral intentions have a significant impact on farmers who make behavioral decisions with the intervention of third parties such as industrial and commercial capital. Finally, solutions such as intensify the political propaganda, measures and proposals of industrial and commercial capital to the countryside, and differentiated farmer management measures were proposed.
