Abstract:
In order to review the research progress related to cultivated land marginalization, the study used the CiteSpace bibliometric analysis software. “marginalization”, “cultivated land+marginalization” and “land+marginalization” in both Chinese and in English were taken as keywords to retrieve China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database and Web of Science Journal Paper Database. A total of 154 Chinese papers and 427 English papers were obtained. Bibliometric statistical analysis and literature review methods were then used to systematically analyze the literature obtained through the framework of “definition-classification-driving mechanism-monitoring approach-impact evaluation”. The results show that: Cultivated land marginalization refers to the decline of the food crop production capacity of cultivated land, which is manifested in the form of abandonment, non-food transformation, and ecological retreat. Monitoring and evaluation of cultivated land marginalization include household surveys, statistical analysis, literature meta-analysis, and remote sensing extraction, and how to integrate macro-monitoring and micro-driven analysis is an important direction for the future. Existing studies generally focus on the negative impact of cultivated land marginalization on food security, and the comprehensive impact mechanism needs to be explored. The driving mechanism and impact of cultivated land marginalization have a large spatial heterogeneity, and subsequent research should focus on the zoned governance approach under multiple factors and scenarios.
