Abstract:
Fertigation technology is a new agricultural technology, which could enhance the utilization rate of water and fertilizer and increase the yield of crops. This study was focusing on the mixing characteristics of water and fertilizer solution in fertigation technology. The influences of the mixing time, length of the mixing interval, flow velocity and pipe diameter on the mixing efficiency were simulated based on the two-phase flow theory in fluid mechanics. The results indicated that the longer mixing time and mixing interval, the better the mixing efficiency and the final uniformity of water and fertilizer solution. The uniformity of mixture was better when the velocity ratio of water and fertilizer solution was small, and the mixing efficiency was higher under the larger flow rate of water and fertilizer solution. In addition, the influence of pipe diameter ratio of water pipe and fertilizer pipe on the mixing efficiency was greater when the flow velocity was low.And the smaller the pipe diameter ratio was,the better the mixing performance was. It's influence was weakened gradually with the increase of flow velocity.
