切叶蜂口器的结构变异及其生物学意义

本文描述并讨论了拟蔷薇切叶蜂(Megachile subtranquilla Yasuma-tsu)和蔷薇切叶蜂(tranquilla Cockerell)口器结构和功能的关系。这两种切叶蜂口器的吸吮部分基本上与蜜蜂(Apis mellifera L.)一样都适宜取食花蜜,但上颚的构造在种间和种内雌雄性别间有明显的差异。雌蜂的上颚中部有适应切叶筑巢的刀片状齿,上颚的臼齿叶可能用以咀嚼花粉。而雄蜂的上颚则缺乏这种构造。两性的上颚都有尖锐的切齿叶,第一个外端齿不仅在两种切叶蜂中,甚至在低等膜翅目的梨茎蜂和叶蜂中也十分相似,它们都是用来咬破茧及羽化孔的。以上结果说明了口器结构与功能的一致性。此外,还讨论了蔷薇切叶蜂的切叶筑巢习性及对花卉的为害情况。
